a woman on the train is carrying a large, transparent tupperware of cupcakes; homemade with rainbow sprinkles and chocolate icing. everyone steals glances. it might be too early for cupcakes, but still, everyone who’s seen the container fastens themselves to their seats, avoiding all the many cartoony reactions—belly rubbing, eyes rounding, tongue hanging.
